Tangier Island Restaurants

Waterfront Sandwich Shop
Located right at the end of the wharf where the boat
docks, this restaurant features local seafood such as
crab, soft shell, and clam fritter sandwiches. They
also offer daily specials such as a deluxe turkey melt,
cheeseburger, or other unique sandwiches, and they also
create some of the most delicious deserts you'll find
on the island. So enjoy good food, bay breezes, and
the best view in town. You'll get a bird's eye view
of the watermen fueling up and their comings and goings
while you enjoy your lunch.

Channel Marker Restaurant
Just take the path from the dock to the first street,
turn right and you'll be at a restaurant that features
a varied menu with something for everyone, from sandwiches,
soups and salads to land-lovers specials. The restaurant
specialties however are Chesapeake Bay seafood, including
steamed crabs, shrimp, clams and more.

Fisherman's Corner Restaurant
A short walk from the boat dock, this restaurant was
featured in the May 2005 issue of Southern Living Magazine.
Enjoy some of the best seafood on the island and savor
the hot crab dip or feast on a medley of Chesapeake
Bay seafood - filet of flounder, soft shell crab, crab
cake, scallops, oyster clam strips, and shrimp. But
the menu offers a wide variety of different local seafood
recipes and other entrees to delight the palate.

Hilda Crockett's Chesapeake House
This well known restaurant serves a family style, all-u-can-eat
meal, featuring Chesapeake Bay crab cakes, clam fritters,
and Virginia baked ham. The vegetables include green
beans, potato salad, coleslaw, apple sauce, pickled
beets, and mouth-watering, delicious hot corn pudding.
And all that is served with fresh, baked daily homemade
rolls and butter pound cake. And the bowls of food keep
coming until you tell the servers you are full. So blame
yourself if you walk away hungry.

Lorrian's sandwich shop
When you exit the boat's dock, turn right and pass
by the grocery store to your right. Then make a right
down, that's where you'll find Lorrian's sanwich shop.
Enjoy fresh crab cakes, soft crabs or fish. If you don't
like seafood then maybe a sub or cheeseburger. Lorrian's
is a local favorite spot for sitting and talking if
you spend the night on Tangier Island.

Spanky's Ice Cream
After you have your lunch at one of the resturants,
come by and tast some great Ice cream at Spanky's. Designed
around a 1950's style ice cream parlor, Spanky's has
the largest ice cream selection on the Island. Fully
air conditioned, just right on a hot day
