Cruise the scenic Rappahannock River aboard the "Captain Thomas"

Virginia's Rappahannock River is full of adventure, history, and excitement.
It all comes alive for you in a day you'll always remember, aboard the cruise
boat "Captain Thomas".

The narrated cruise departs Hoskins Creek at Tappahannock at 10 A.M.
You'll want to bring your binoculars, so you can get a close-up look at our rare,
magnificent national symbol, the bald eagle. These magnificent birds nest in the
trees and cliffs beside the Rappahannock. There are about 50 year round resident
eagles, with another 40 or so migratory birds that come and go all year round. Some
of the birds you will see come to fish the waters of the Rappahannock, but nest as
far as 50 miles away.

You'll also want to see the many species of waterfowl and the points of interest as
you enjoy a relaxing cruise twenty miles upriver. Let yourself go back in time as your
captain points out the sites of the steamboat landings which were an important part
of Virginia's transportation history.

Ingleside Plantation Winery

After a scenic two hours on the river, you will enjoy a tour of one of Virginia's largest
premier farm wineries, Ingelside Plantation Winery. A highlight of your trip, the tour features
a special treat, a wine tasting and a visit to their gift shop. After the tasting, you may purchase
wines at a special discount. Ingleside's winemaster takes great pride in their award-winning
wines, including outstanding red, white and blush wines as well as Virginia's champagne.
An optional lunch is available at Ingleside,
or you may bring your own lunch, if you prefer.

A relaxing return cruise brings you back to Tappahannock, docking at 4:30 p.m. Snacks
are available on board.

The Captain Thomas is also available for charter by the hour for receptions, class
reunions, birthdays and other parties and special occasions.
